1944 Y. Penny Variety Error Mis-Strike in Very Fine Condition
This 1944 “Y.” Australian penny is a variety or error coin. It shows a mis-strike. This can happen when the blank planchet shifts. It can also happen when the dies move during striking. Coins like this appeal to collectors because the error is part of the story. It can also affect rarity and value. This depends on how clear the mis-strike is.
