Serving Cairns and Far North Queensland’s needs for coins, banknotes, and gold and silver bullion.
Founded in 1980, we’re a family-run business serving Cairns and the Far North Queensland region. Our father, mother, and son team operates an environmentally conscious, solar-powered store. We also designed the Cairns Tourist Dollar in 1982.

We are recognized by the Perth Mint as a trusted trader. We are also a Perth Mint Authorized Bullion Distributor. This applies to Perth Mint bullion products only.

- Bullion (pure, GST-free items priced from daily Perth Mint rates¹)

- Gold in all shapes and sizes, including:
- Alluvial gold (any amount; paid on the spot)
- Nuggets (we pay a premium for distinctive pieces)
- Second-hand jewelry (bought and sold by weight¹)
- Scrap gold (any amount, any condition—yellow or white)
- Bench jewellery lots (filings, lemel, polishing dust, and more)
- Antique gold and silver collectibles
We also deal in:
- Medals and militaria
- Banknotes (Australian pre-decimal and decimal, plus world banknotes)
Second-Hand Items
We buy and sell a wide range of estate and antique second-hand items. All prices include GST.
If your item can be melted down into a precious metal (gold, silver, etc.), we’ll buy it at the current scrap rate. Contact us for a quote.
You can also shop second-hand jewellery, coins, banknotes, and collectibles through our Online Store and eBay Store.
Pawnbroking
We provide loans on selected items only. We do not lend against electrical items, mobile phones, tools, or similar goods.
Fees and terms
- 10% for the first two weeks
- 15% per month after that
- Standard holding period: six months
If three months pass without a payment, Queensland pawnbrokers may sell or auction unredeemed items. With us, you’ll sign for a six-month term. We can hold items indefinitely as long as you make at least one payment every six months.
ID and security Proof of identity is required by law for all loans. We prefer a driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID. Our premises are secured with extensive on-site security, including 24-hour surveillance.
Unredeemed items are sold through our Online Store and eBay Store as second-hand goods.
